About Me

Kamesha B. is a multifaceted creative based in NYC, weaving her talents as a producer, director, media consultant, screenwriter, and educator into a tapestry of storytelling. With a resolute voice and a profound passion for narrative craft, she draws inspiration from creators across various media - film, TV, music, fine art, and literature. The influence of jazz luminaries like Miles Davis and John Coltrane, as well as photographers Gordon Parks and Carrie Mae Weems, and TV & Film creators John Singleton, Mara Brock Akil, Gina Prince-Bythewood, and Hype Williams, further enriches her artistic palette.

Kamesha's career aspiration is clear: to create uncompromising stories that challenge conventional paradigms and create authentic storytelling. Her academic journey includes a B.A. in English and Communications from Buffalo State University, followed by a deep dive into Storytelling at Johns Hopkins University, where she earned a double M.A. in Business and Film and Media Studies in 2019.

Beyond her individual achievements, she harbors a profound ambition to inspire the next generation of storytellers, fostering a legacy where each generation inspires the next in an ever-evolving narrative continuum.

Honors & Awards:

Production & Development Grant Award Recipient- Television Pilot - Issued by Saul Zaentz Grant Winners Amplify Social Justice Through Science · Apr 2020

Film and Television Grant - Perhaps influenced by the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s grant winners have chosen projects that reveal the growing importance of science, scientific investigation, and scientific truth. The focus on science is likely to be a recurring theme in all art forms in a post-COVID-19 world that saw science either closely followed to great effect or belittled and defiantly ignored, to tragic effect.

“It is not surprising that our grant winners should present strong cases for science as hope for civilization,” said Porter. “The Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund is part of Johns Hopkins University, which was at the center of scientific investigation around the coronavirus epidemic. Filmmakers working at Johns Hopkins and in the greater Baltimore area are deeply connected to the scientific world. I believe this tight connection will produce a new generation of filmmakers willing to tackle subjects of great importance and complexity. Our grant winners are proving that thesis.”
